Front Passenger Door Bose Amp Replacement
1) Remove the interior door panel- There are three main screws located under the plastic trim of the door handle, the window switch and a plastic cap located in the door rest. There are also 4 screws located at the bottom of the door underneath plastic caps. You will have to gently pry all of these items loose with a flat edge screwdriver.
The door panel is then held by three plastic clips each on the left and right sides of the door edge. Pull the panel out to dislodge the clips and be careful not to yank the wires connecting the window switch and bottom well light. The door panel will then hang from the top of the door. Lift it up with one hand and hold the panel away from the door until you disconnect the wires for the window switch and bottom well light with the other hand. Then set the panel aside.

2) Remove the entire Bose speaker enclosure-The enclosure is secured to the door frame by a total of 4 screws (3 on outer frame and 1 through the enclosure.) After removal of the 4 screws, I had to gently pry the enclosure from the door frame with a flat edge screwdriver. When the enclosure is free unplug the speaker from its connector in the door frame. The enclosure should be placed on a suitable work table to begin removing its cover.

3)Remove the cover from the Bose speaker enclosure- All screws on the face of the enclosure must be taken out EXCEPT the three screws holding the speaker cone. Once the cover is removed you will be able to see the amp.

4) Remove and replace the Bose amp- The amp must be unplugged and then the attachment screws removed. Replace with functioning amp, close the enclosure and reinstall.

For me, the replacement of the amps restored full functionality of the speaker and eliminated all pops and crackles. My speaker cones appeared to be in decent condition despite the fact that my J30t is 17 years old. The subwoofer is another story but until I run across another one that functions I'll make due.
