You can use the stock wiring as the 2 ohm part is from the speaker. If you have aftermarket headunit (requires 4 ohm) and aftermarket speakers (is 4 ohm), you will be fine using the stock speaker wires.kbflip02 wrote:ok so i am replacing the rear deck speakers in my J but cant get a straight answer from anyone anywhere on how to d it...my question is am i going to have to rewire the back speakers from the deck since i am going aftermarket 4 ways???or can i use the same wires?...i already have an aftermarket deck so i dont know what i need to do in order to get them working properly...i was told the stock bose speakers were 2ohm so if the 4ways i got were 2 ohm would i need to change the wiring or what....also i was wondering if it was even possible to reuse the stock amps on the back speakers on the new speakers...anyways any bit of info would be greatly appreciated...-K
stock speakers already have amps built in...i do plan on adding an amp for my components but as of right now my front speakers are fine...i just need to replace my back ones....naladude911 wrote:can i use an aftermarket amp and wire it into my stock sound system so i can make it louder? Its not very loud when I blast it. I guess that means upgrading the speakers so I dont bust them right?
later when i get a chance ill take a picture of what i have in my trunk right now...unfortunately i have no trunk space due to the size of the box but its a custom ported box and sounds incredible....as far as your J is concerned since youre planning on getting subs anyways you might as well replace your back speakers...i know @ best buy you can get a good pair of 3-way 6x9s for around $35....naladude911 wrote:ya, its from all the bass. Im going to get subs for xmas and that should clear things up. Im looking for one of those bass bundle packages, any suggestions. Preferably 2 10" subs in a box. Ported, sealed, what works best with the J's trunk?
That's why my setup is great. That 10" bazooka sounds nice and puts out way more bass than you would expect plus I get to keep most of my trunk space.kbflip02 wrote:later when i get a chance ill take a picture of what i have in my trunk right now...unfortunately i have no trunk space due to the size of the box but its a custom ported box and sounds incredible....as far as your J is concerned since youre planning on getting subs anyways you might as well replace your back speakers...i know @ best buy you can get a good pair of 3-way 6x9s for around $35....
If you want the head turning bass, you want a sealed box.naladude911 wrote:ya, so ported is the way to go? im keeping the boses because they are brand new, my dad never used the stereo. Are these subs good?http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm...il.do
I want the, head turning subs. I think 2000 watts is pretty good, right?

IMO i would go with a dual voice coil 2ohm sub...either ten or twelve...and @ least an 800w amp....naladude911 wrote:ok, are these good?http://www.crutchfield.com/App...p=442
If you're on a budget, start looking for used stuff. It's everywhere and CHEAP.naladude911 wrote:this including a box is all under $500, and thats my budget for now. For this price is it good? Its not going to win any competitions, but it will be headturning and nice right?
i might not call it "headturning" but we may have 2 different definitions of that...i agree with scott though...why not try craigslist...you'd be suprised what kindve deals you can find on there...the other day before i got my tens i was looking @ 2 12's in a box w/760w amp for $400...all in all it really depends on what you want...where do you want it to sound better?inside or outside the car?naladude911 wrote:the crutchfield rep said this was a good system for what i am looking for at a decent price.
Of course he told you that, HE'S TRYING TO SELL IT TO YOU!!!!!naladude911 wrote:the crutchfield rep said this was a good system for what i am looking for at a decent price.

I know this is here and you are there and shipping would kill this deal but just to show you, these deals are out there. And this WOULD be considered head turning bass (If it would fit in the trunk):kbflip02 wrote:i agree with scott though...why not try craigslist
& install plenty of Dynamat.gr8scott72 wrote:

The Bose stereo & speakers wasn't meant for heart-dropping bass; it was meant to give more of a concert feel to your music. Classical orchestra music, I might add.naladude911 wrote:can i use an aftermarket amp and wire it into my stock sound system so i can make it louder? Its not very loud when I blast it. IMO, you might as well. Don't forget the Dynamat. Keeps the rattle away & your J won't sound like it's constipated. Trust me, I've heard one for myself & it was AWFUL.naladude911 wrote:there new because my dad never used the stereo, he thought music was too distracting in the car. Damm, new speakers? Il do it once these ones blow
