Hey y’all. I have a '97 J30t w/ 141k miles. A shop was recently replacing a serpentine belt and cracked the hardened rubber of the right air intake tubing directly into the engine. I can't find a replacement part anywhere on the internet and I'm having trouble finding a J30 in a yard. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. :bowrofl:

You can probably repair it with FlexSeal or PlastiDip just to kill the leak and get it back in service, but it probably won't last. Once those boots deteriorate and crack, they usually keep cracking in one spot after another until they fall completely apart. I've seen guys construct intakes using hydraulic cylinder bellows for the flex portion and PVC or marine exhaust hose for the hard sections, for the long term you may need to resort to something like that.

all good suggestions thank you!! are you aware of anywhere that would simply sell the part? just wondering if fabricating the part is my only permanent solution, really appreciate the input

It's out of production and I didn't see any available even from Amayama or other Japanese vendors. So I think you're SOL finding the factory part. You might be able to adapt the bellows and elbow off a gen2 Rogue if it's the right diameter, that has a port in the elbow for a resonator similar to the drawing for your bellows.

You'd have to add an extension of some sort, marine exhaust tube would probably work best. FlexSeal is absolutely fabulous for a temporary fix, that's definitely what I'd do for now. The TV ads aren't lying about gluing a boat back together with it, the stuff is amazing.

I did what vstar said about glue , best results is 2-part epoxy FLEXIBLE glue .Black WAS available , now I only see Tan & Clear. AND the best was Bondo (3M) # 806 , that reverted to # 806C ( for clear , clear is second best from black ,tan looks hideous) . Those epoxies are sold as "Bumper Fix" for toda'ys plastic 'skins' :yesnod

And of course other "Bumper Fix_ 2-part flexible epoxies are out there
