ok heres the deal, my 240 was totaled about two months ago and have since been looking for the right next car to purchase. i loved my 240 but now want something bigger with a little more power and still in the nissan family. thats where the j30 has really caught my interest (v6,rwd,luxury). ive searched but i still have questions about the aftermarket parts available for the j. Does anybody make intake and header. i would really like to find a header because an intake is fairly easy to make yourself. im not looking to make huge power gains with this type of car but a little bump in power would be nice. any other info would be appreciated i.e websites or anything else as i am really interested in getting a j

thanks

Car: should be obvious enough

intake is easy enough to make at home.

headers.

the stillen 300zx headers should bolt right up to the block.

the question remains is if they interfere with the steering column or rack in the J30.

obviously, a custom (header-back) exhaust would also need to be fabricated. (or just modify stock, if it is still holding up)

the J30 might be more powerful but it's haulin around a lot more weight. a health J30 should be running around 16.1 in the 1/4 mile. it's a great ride with luxury to the max! the interior is primo! If you want to sacrifice RWD I would go with the I30. It has more usuable torque in the low rev range thanks to the great VQ motor. That makes it a lot more practical in daily driving and a little red light racing here and there.

torque steer doesn't seem very present in the I30. maybe the LSD helps. dunno. it's very apparent in the VQ35 (hang on with both hands tony!)

i don't recall the fastest i've been in the J30, diamond. it was over 115mph for sure. might be draft limited by the top speed rather than red line or ECU.

Not much torque steer in my 2000 I30, but save your dough, and get a used I35. The power band seems a lot stronger (more than the 43 HP would suggest).

This might be the last year for the I35, since Infiniti is going all RWD. The I35 will go away. A new M35 will take its place.
