My 94 J30 is having intermittent A/C problems. After about an hour or so of running the A/C the amount of air flow coming out of the vents slowly decreases until no air is blowing from the vents. However, you can hear the fan trying to blow air at full force and the fan display shows that it is on high speed. If I stop and let the car rest for about 15, it will work fine for about another hour and then process repeats. Being that A/C is pretty much a requirement here in South Carolina, I called the local Infiniti dealer twice and got two different answers. They also prefer not to look at it until it is totally broken. Therefore, I must turn to the experts of NICO for help with the hopes that this is something that I will be able to repair.

Ive had the same problem on my 93 and did a bunch of search and this is what i came up with . cars with high miles will have a bunch of slidge and dirt and leaves stuck in their evaporator ? or condesor coil?? inside the car behind the glove box , BUT that's on the Q45's . The problems that these guys were experiencing was not enough air flowing through the vents and cleaing those parts allowed the ac to blow the normal amount of air through.

Melbout71: does sometimes you compressor actually comes on but your blower motor doesn't come on at all ?

here's what im experiencing also , compressor comes on but blower motor doesn't , and sometimes just like melbout71 , the blower motor tries to blow air through vents but no air comes out.

didn't mean to hijack your thread melboun , i know im just adding more Q's than answers ;)

Sounds like your evaporator coils may be freezing from a low charge. Have you evacutaed your coolant and replaced the drier filter along with the lubricant? Go to a professional AC shop that has the equipment, data for your car, and the expertise to perform the service.

My compressor comes on and the blower motor is working, but it seems as if all the vents are just closed off not allowing any air flow throuh. The dealer first told me that it was the damping resistor. The next time I called, it was the air flow door was closing off.
