j30 - A/C Bulb Replacement

Overview:

If your AirCon control buttons have gone dark, the cause is most likely the tiny bulbs inside the unit burning out.

Tools:

- Phillips head screwdriver

Materials:

- Replacement bulbs (PN #28529-10Y00)

Procedure:

Remove the plastic trim around the shifter by gently pulling straight up. There are two Phillips head screws that need to be pulled out underneath it.

Remove the wood trim under the clock/ac controls exercising caution not to damage the panel as you pull it. Move it out of the way and unplug the cigarette lighter harness.

You should now have access to the four screws holding the audio head unit and climate control box. Pull them out and remove both components as a single piece.

With this unit removed, you should be able to find four brown plastic "screws" in the back of the climate control box. These are actually your bulbs. They come out with a half-turn.
