Whats up everyone. I got a quick question. My dash lights, clock light and radio lights went out. At first they would go on and off. All i had to do was tap the dimmer at bit. But yesterday they went completely out. I replaced dimmer, replaced the "clock" fuse. Still dont work. I even jumped the green and yellow wire together and still nothing. Last i changed the white piece ( the piece that has the 2 green and yellow wire wire) that connects to the dimmer. Still nothing please help. 1994 j30

Sounds like your switch just need's the solder points redone. (Resoldered)
Quite common, and a very simple fix.

Yes.
remove the dimmer switch and you will see solder points on the little circuit board.
Just apply fresh solder on each point.
Its one of the first things I had to do on my J.

But the dimmer switch is good. I tried it in my other j30 and it worked.

Interesting. When you said in the beginning Tapping on it made it work,
That's exactly what mine was doing. Till I resoldered it.

If the dimmer and fuses are good. What else might the problem be?

I tried it and I'm not getting a reading from any of the wires.

Go back to the fuse box and recheck the fuses with the ohmmeter

Is there a particular fuse I should check? Or should I check them all?

I am not sure of the specific one, but good time to check all!
Set it on DC volts, go across fuses in the box and make sure u get 12v across each fuse

THERE ARE 3 RELAYS ON THE BACKSIDE OF THE INTERIOR FUSE BLOCK! 2 ACCESSORY RELAYS AND AN IGNITION RELAY! BLASTED NISSAN DOESN'T LIST THEM ANYWHERE BUT DEEP IN THE SERVICE MANUAL WIRING DIAGRAMS! GAH!

Rant off.

I strongly suspect one of the (accessory) relays is sticking, and when you smacked the fuse panel it came loose. If you keep having problems pop the panel out and replace the relay(s).
