Got my '66 520 going. A little starting fluid, and it ran like a top! Fired up instanly after sitting for six months or so. I need valve clearance figures though. My truck is a POST OCTOBER production truck. I don't know why, but because of this fact EVERYTHING is a major b**** to get the right parts/info/everything for. I plan on contacting the dealer tomorrow, and have them say the usual......"UH, we don't even have that in our computer/or on paper file." Thought I would start here first. I looked online and found nothing.

My book says .014 in. I had one that would tick at that setting. I went as tight as .009 to make it silent. Didn't seem to affect the operation.

I would love to get a copy of any specs/repair manuals/owner's manuals you have regarding the 1966 520. Mine is a post-october model. See my next post. The valve info was useful, but it would be better if I knew what valve to check when what valve is open. Is .014 for Exhaust AND Intake? Thanks. Send me your email addy if you can.
