hi guys,
i was wondering about a few things on j-spec cars.
1.) are they legal to drive in the US if you buy them HERE?2.) if they're illegal, how do u make it legal?3.) if it is illega, is it AS illegal as buying a s13 here and swaping a SR20DET ?

You CANNOT register a j-spec car (Japanese VIN's) in North America WITHOUT having the car crash tested. It takes 3 cars, and LOTS of money to get it done. Happy?

well the engine is illegal, and that's the only thing different about the car, so i gather that it's illegal as well. just because it's right-hand drive doesn't make it illegal. Just because you buy a 180sx or silvia here doesn't make it legal, it could have been imported "for race purposes only", thus it would just be just as illegal as a 240sx with a swapped-in sr20

If the SR came in the JDM S13 then why did you ask in the first place, you already knew it was illegal. What did you plan on doing, swapping in a KA24DE and throwing out that useless SR20DEtrash.

wow thats funny cause i usually just make fun of them and ignore the whole search button ordeal.....BUT, this subject has been covered. THIS SPECIFIC TOPIC WAS TALKED ABOUT IN DETAIL. thats why I told him to search. And why not tell him to use it....its not like you're giving him any quality information.
