Got strut INSERTS from Scottsdale. Everything went smoothly until I put the new part in the strut tube and they don't fit. They are about 1/2 inch longer so that the gland nut cannot seal the tube. Anyone else had this problem. Car is a 95 J30T.

Guess I will call Joe tomorrow but it sure is a bummer to get half way through a job like this and discover the parts don't fit.

Thanks,

Don

Traditional shocks have the spring and shock in one unit, much like a coilover. A strut has the shock and spring seperate...... The strut insert is the part of the assy that si replaced because it wears out...

Don, does the FSM call for a strut compressor.. Sometimes you have to compress the strut before you cna put it in.
