j-30 ball joint replacement

hi all, i'm just wondering if anyone has done the ball joints on thier j, is it easy, and how can i remove it once i get the pin out and the bolt, i think it is placed in the control arm using pressure or a clamp, any help is appreciated

just a follow up on the ball joint issue on my j30, it is getting really bad, the driver side wheel is letrelly dancing when i drive above 40MPH..... i went shopping for a lower ball joint all day yesterday, and no one seems to have it for the j, i have found out how to change it but all i need is the part, i would appreciate it if anyone knows where i can get it from, would a lower ball joint from a 300zx or a 240sx fit, thank you

Teh whole arm may need to be replaced. This is also a good idea if the bushings are shot in the arm as well (good chance if your ball is already shot)

after research, i found out that the control arm comes as one piece with the ball joint, does anyone have an idea how much it would cost for the control arm, i called the dealer here in montreal, they were asking for a little too much, i hope that there is somewhere where it is cheaper.

btw, dealer was asking for "let me put it this way" WAY more than 200 dollars which is what i was expecting to pay..... any suggestions are appreciated

thank you for your response, i will call joe, and compare and see my best option as everythinginfiniti involves shipping charges, i hope it will be cheaper than the dealer........ the ball joint has to be replaced as it has gotten to a critical stage

i bought my lower control arm when i needed to replace the ball joint from Joe. it cost me around $150USD or so but the you will have to pay duty which is around another $30 or so when it arrives in Canada.

Pardon this from someone not yet intimately familiar with Infiniti construction, but does Moog offer anything in their catalog in the way of the joint by itself?Apologies if this is stupid.

Go to car-stuff.com or everythinginfiniti.comI just bought both control arms for $401 altogether with shipping.Car-smart has them for 250 and everything infiniti was 178 for the left and 185 for the right one. Don't know why the difference in cost but still the cheapest I found.

this question is way....WAY off topic....you said you used ssqv bovs, right. were they official hks or the generics off of ebay. cause im in the market to find some now and am a little sceptic of the ebay ones but very intrested from the price.

dude post some updates on the car!!!

I think the 240sx balljoint would have a better chance than the 300Zx since the 240 and J use basically the same suspension.
