ive searched with no answers...Thermo?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

so to make this quick i got a new thermostat and put it on properly no leaks and eveerythings damn skippy....except for once i get out on the road after about 3 minuts it will peak on my temp gauge in my car super high like needle length away from H....then after about 30 seconds it will go back down to near normal driving temp......just a bit higher then usual.....my heat will work fine ONLY after it does that high temp gig....not sure whats the deal....any advice would be helpfull.

Thermostat could be sticking. Is it possible you installed it incorrectly?Could there be any gasket material in the way?

air in system? did you replace thermostat housing gasket? did you flush the radiator? you could be low on coolant etc etc. ive had a little leak at the tb. and i would loose coolant after a while.

probably air in the system, after you switched the thermo, air might've gotten stuck on the top of the thermo and caused the t-stat to not open.(if you installed it wrong, most t-stats come with a little butterfly on them, which should be on the top to let air go by)

Yea thanks guys i checked the coolant and it was a little low nothing to bad even when it was hot it was real low in the overflow. i bled the system and so far no high temps...only drove it for about 20 minuts but so far so good.
