ok so im looking to do cams in my redtop, but im so confused, ive had people tell me i can run cams with no tune and people tell me i HAVE to have a tune, is this true? And can someone point me in the direction with getting cams and what kind and if i need a tune or no

redtop-mods:fmic3inch turboback no cathks wastegate @ 12psihks bovmishimoto rad with fanss14 t28apexi intake

what cams can i run if i can without a tune, and do i need to modify the head at while installing them?

thanks guys

i guess it would be a yes and no answer, it'll run but how good will it run with massive lopping cams and no tune or even if it is a mild cam if you want to extract the most hp just do an enpathy tune and don't worry about it

how about getting your car to run right before you start modding internals.did you know your car is backfiring and this can very much be detonation and detonation on a sr is not good, since the ring glands tend to bust on the pistons...i have rebuilt a sr for a friend just this year bc his car was detonating and he ignored it bc he wanted to GO FAST!! it put him $1500 in the whole. his car was idling funny and backfiring just as you describe so get your motor on check before hand

Why not just save up and do it all at once? Your engine won't run perfect otherwise and could slowly damage itself.
