Honestly I emailed you guys and what not but never got a return email i suppose its the fact that your email is acting up.

Curious though since you guys have a foot in the door with MAP units and engine manegment. WHat are some of the tried and true methods of converting a MAF to a MAP and what are the associated hardware needed to get each individual MAP system working?

IE. AEM EMS, (unspecified) MAP sensor, associated hardware.

What was the AEM Turbo KA suing for MAP setup? SPecifically what hardware and specifications employed in the system?

Im not asking you to give up yoru secrets but honestly I would love to learn how to make my MAF a MAP and tune it accordingly.

Most standalones that I've seen...(Holley, Electromotive) use the GM MAP sensor w/ corresponding GM weather pack connector.

The MAP sensor only needs to be connected via that connector and needs a vacuum source to read (it has a nipple on it to hook up the line to).

Does the GM MAP sensor look like a MAF essentially? Are they in the works of mass producing a crossover for the KA so it can use a GM MAP sensor? I notice that the DSM cars have it with a translator. Was curious as to if anyone was going to sell it with wires and everything complete.

The dsm's dont use the gm MAP sensor--they use the gm MAF. The only difference is--a "MAP" sensor reads air pressure withing the manifold by using vacuum/boost, the "MAF" uses airflow through a circular housing to calulate the air intake into the motor.

Any vacuum source on the IM should be a good source for the standalone.

Sorry, I have been really busy and havent had much time to get on the net.

The AEM EMS is a replacement ECU that allows you to change anything and everything that you want. You can switch from using a MAF to measure the air entering your motor to a formula that uses manifold pressure, manifold temp, and speed of your motor to determine how much air is entering your motor.

Its completely configurable for any MAF, MAP, injector, ignition, TPS, KS, etc.

AEM will be releasing the plug and play version of the EMS for the S13 240s in about three weeks. Basically you will unplug your factory ECU and plug the AEM EMS right into your wire harness. You can then use a lap top to change, program, datalog, etc. This system isnt for average 240 or average enthusiest. It MUST be programed to operate your car correctly and safely.

Please go to http://www.aempower.com and read up a bit. Its an awesome system that will allow you to do whatever you want to your 240 and never have to buy another chip, send the ECU out, etc. Its cabable of doing what ever you want.

It will work with either SOHC or DOHC.

Its programed with a start up map that will get a stock car running.

AEM is making the EMS for just about any car that has a performance market. The EMS is available for SO MANY cars right now. Please check out http://www.aempower.com in the sport compact forums to get more info.
