So the wife got me a new tv for xmas, She totally suprised me, but at the time we didn't have a proper tv stand for a flat screen tv. After looking at what she wanted online and looking at the storage options they had for media, I decided that I needed to build one instead. I figured it would be easier to make it look the way she wanted and have the storage features i wanted than to modify an already built one. Below are the pictures of it as it was built and the finished project.

it looks like the things in the cabinet are set far enough back to leave space for the shelves on the doors.

zephyr that's exactly how it is, rear shelves are only wide enough to hold dvd's, there's a 1/2 inch gap between the rear shelves and the door shelves when closed. I wanted to use all the space for storage and not have to pull crap out to find out what's behind it.
