So it is time... Yes!!! I got alittle saved up and currently looking for coils.. I dont really want to go with godspeeds...So I found a used set of Tein HR's for s14, I was wondering if they look decent in terms of condition? (I dont know much about coils so) because they have a good chance of blowing etc since they're used..

Hmmm, How much of a budget are you exactly on?

When you buy used coils like that you are always taking a risk, because they could be blown.

I always thought used coils was a little shady...plus, I dont think HR's go low enough for my taste.so I would pass and save a little longer

Not that my opinion really matters

You really do -not- want to take the risk of used coilovers. It could be a nice $500 set of usable coilovers that will last you thousands of miles, or it could be a $500 set of paperweights.

I don't pay that much for paperweights.

Not that I have any real experience on the subject, but in my reading, I have come to the opinion that the cheap budget style coil overs fall in this order.

Powered By Max, Stance, KTS, Megans, Ksport. PBM is full of pros though. Good price, you can purchase a new shock to replace a blown one for $100 plus shipping, they perform really well off the shelf.

I've been looking at them for a while now, but I want to get rid of my Hicas subframe before I do any real suspension modification, and when I do, I'll most likely drop the 3000 to get one of everything on the PBM page.

That's how those brands are ranked in my mind to... but there are some other budget brands that fill in between as well...

Tis true, there were a couple on Ebay that I actually considered, but no user opinions, or dynos that I could find to convince me. I used to be hell bent on the Stance Gr+3s. The ones with the remote reservoir. 1600, and for some reason they just dropped them from their line up. You're really not going to get much better than the PBMs as far as bang for buck.

anyone know if I'm going to have problems lowering the car with my setup? also pull/roll required? I am not sure about this.. I run 18x9.5 Rota p45R's +15 front and back with 245/40 tires.

you will need a roll and possible a slight pull, then you should be good
