So as I come home from work around 5:30 tonight, I see that the car says its 115 degrees outside, which I can back up because I work outside  but anyways, while I'm at a stoplight, I realize that my Nismo exhaust is quite loud, so I look down and see that the car is idling at a little over 900 rpm!!! It happened at every stoplight on the way home. I was curious if this is normal for the engine to idle this high with this much heat outside. Can anyone help??? :gotme

my guess is that the engine was just so hot it started idling at a higher rpm to get the coolant pumping through the engine, but i could be wrong lol.

running air conditioning? the engine will normally increase the idle when running belt driven accessories. your backup fans might have kicked on as well, so that combination could have your car idling that high, and it would be fairly normal.

Its normal for your car to idle higher than usual. I just came from laughlin area this weekend and my car was at 1100 idling since I have it tuned to idle at 900. When that happened, the weather was also at 110 degrees
