I closed the deal on a brand new 2006 white crew cab LE titan last night. Now I am another $22,000 in dept (Got the truck for $28,050 before tax, etc.) after not having a car payment since 2000. Ugghh!!! I go pick up my new truck today as they are preparing it for me and actually have to remove it from the show room. Has 14 miles on it and I have not even driven it yet although I drove a similar one on the lot just different color. Never thought I would be driving a truck and never thought I would buy a brand new truck but with the incentives and much lower interest rate on a new car it was a no brainer as the best I could do on a 2005 similar model was $6,000 difference and it had 20,000 miles so the $6K in savings was not worth the 20,000 miles, higher interest rate, and less warranty.

Now the next question.....is there any special procedure I need to do to break in the engine or watch the oil usage so it is broken in properly and does not have the oil usage problem as some of the other Infiniti V8's? Also when should I switch to synthetics?

Rob - congrats on the truck .

I think a white truck in MIA will do you well, just don't turn the Vette into a trailer queen.

Do you need any odd or ends for the vette?

First thing I'd do is check the owners manual for a break-in procedure. I'm sure that is a lot different now in days compared to how I knew to do it 10 years ago (tolerences and such). If nothing else, ask the dealership. Also heard that 10K is a safe mileage to switch to synthetic (then again, could be different). Hope this helps.

Congrats on the Titan!

I drove a 2005 model, and was very impressed with the power and ride. It was the decked out model with the console and all. I think I would rather have a bench seat and column shift, myself. I mean, a truck is a truck, right?

I am not so sure on white, though. I like the silver. It goes great with all the chrome.

thanks guys for the support. I like the metallic black a lot but it would remind me of the Q too much and then it would still be hot here in Miami sun so I opted for my first white car ever.

Thanks for the offer of the Titan forum support, but I plan on focusing free time elsewhere as NICO has become addictive as I find myslef constantly checking NICO. Need to find another hobby....

For now I am trying to resist the temptation to do any mods to the truck although there are a ton of nice mods available. Want to focus on the vette.

I have not heard about similar problems either. But, following an early oil change procedure cannot hurt regardless. It is a good policy to follow to increase the longevity of the engine.

Congrats Rob!

I've yet to experience a Titan but have been for rides in both an Armada and QX56.

The stock exhaust note on the VK56 is simply sensual.

I'm gonna have to make good on a promise I made to myself and take a Titan for a day.

Enjoy!

Funny you posted this in the Q45 Forum..I bought an X-Terra last year and love it, posted in the X-Terra forum and there just isn't any action!

Good purchase, I love my new X-Terra although it is only the 4.0 liter V6, I have the 6 speed and it is fun!
