My transmission feels alot weird then any other car or 240 that i have felt when you put the car in gear it has alot of side to side play almost like it was in neutral but it is in gear and also when it is in neutral you can make the shifter move in a circle not just side to side the transmission shifts ok and everything but i was wondering what causes this and what i can do to make it more precise feeling.Thank you

Replace the plastic buchings in it or just make sure that snap ring didn't break or pop out.

I have the same issue. I think mine has something to do with the retainer and snap rings. I think they are backwards. I dont know if that really matters, but when I had the short shifter in it didnt do it.

click here for snap ring & c-ring

scroll down to #5 & 6... might as well check the condition of that bushing socket & wave washer....

Ok i replaced the bushing on the very end,Is it supposed to fit over that small ball at the end of the shifter?? because i put it in but it didnt change anything and im wondering if there is supposed to be something on the end of the shifter to make it tighter because im moving the shifter around but im not moving the actual transmisison bar thing that puts it in gear (sry dont know the proper term for it) but i am wondering if i should just replace all the bushings that are there but i think i know what the problem is i just do not know what to do about it,Im wondering if the ball at the end of the shifter could be worn down and thats why there is soo much slack im thinking if that ball was bigger it would not do this because that is the only reason it moves and it isnt a tight fit in there it has room around it like there is supposed to be something there,Or am i supposed to snap that little plastic bushing i bought over that ball? will it break? Thanks for all help

can u provide a link?

or was it the one similar to pilot motorsports as posted earlier?

If I had another chance, I'd go w/ the B&M knockoffs... the one w/ the 6 bolts/plate... but I'm doing ok w/ that pilot one.
