I painted the outer piece gloss black to match the car a little better. By itself it's too matte to blend nicely with the black paint IMHO. Make sure you get a paint that matches Nissan's version of black pretty closely. I need to re-finish mine because I find it's still too much of a difference.

Looking forward to seeing the pics when you're done!

the tabs on theop needed to be cut in order to fit and the grill is a little to deep and touches the support bar. The bottom of the grill doesnot sit flush with the bumper I will mess with it more after winter, Im just to lazy to do anything in cold weather.

Hmmm...absolutely nothing should need to be cut in order to fit...Are you talking about the tabs at the top corners that hook downwards? Just leave those as they are. They're meant to rest against the inside of the front bumper, not hold it into place.

then what holds the grill in place if the tabs dont hook in. The old grill was attatched through those tabs. i don't understand.

Exactly what i thought yesterday as i was installing it, i was about to grind it when I tried to force it in and snap i heard the bottom clips go fully in, I didn't realize so much force was necessary. Now that I look at it makes sense that they dont go in but even properly in position the bottom of the grill doesnt sit flush with the bumper. As for the top part of the grill, one side has a bigger gap. Overall not happy with C-mod but it looks really great even unpainted. It also matchs the plastic around the fogs and under your plate.

Here are the clips

THE GAP

Looking dam good.

cut the middle section / won't sag

I was told by many other forum members not to cut the support bar because the bumper will eventually sag. This is the main reason stillen never made a grill because we cant just simply cut the support bar out. That is the exact problem i was talking about. you really cant notice it unless really close and even then I haven't had anyon else notice it besides me, but i installed it lol. It does totally change the look of the car though.

[/quote] If you force the clips in, the sides of the grill will not be flush, they will be pointed in bent and look retarded.

As for the sag i dont know but theres no reason to cut it because its black the only thing i need to do is paint the radiator black.

without those clips in there is nothing significant holding the grill in place. the little tabs are not enough to hold the grill in place.

Also without removing the support bar the bottom of the grill does not sit flush with the bumper.

Actually the other clips hold it in dam good ive been driving with it for long enough now at above highway speeds, stop and go, big bumps, and its still there. I know what your saying cause i thought the same thing but i think the problem is that you haven't pushed the bottom clips in far enough they actually are really long and the tabs on them are very big so you really have to push it in hard.

Once all the tabs are pushed in all the way it won't move no matter what you do. I tried to push it out from the inside and it wouldn't move at all. I don't know how I'm gonna get it out later

But in the end the only thing thats bugging me is that the grill is not flush im pretty sure now because of the support bar. On it theres a little cylinder type thing sticking out and pushing the mesh forward, which in-turn pusheds the grill forward.

Exactly!

To anyone that still doesn't get it: NOTHING NEEDS TO BE CUT ON THE GRILLE!!! I was one of the first people to get the C-Mod grille. Thus far I've logged at least 6000kms on it, much of it at highway speeds (100+). That thing is in there solidly. The little tabs at the top are enough to hold it in place. As for the bottom, you just need to push it a little harder (like DaCoupe said).
