Its all in the stand!

Haha! I just put my DE in the engine stand for a major overhaul and upgrade! Pics coming soon, I'm just very excited as this is my first engine, and to me its a huge step in a great direction!

Little background on the engine: It had a vavle drop in the number 4, but it still ran supposedly, its also though been through some brief sprinkles witch the vavle cover off...(SD weather is weird). I obtained the thing for $125; I figured since I'm replaceing the header, cams, pistons, rods and vavles, it would be worth it. The goal with this engine is to have 200+ trq NA; keeping in mind after this build a FI componet will be added, so it has to stand up to that. End result should be interesting of this first NA build of mine.

I had to go to ace hardware to obtain the correct bolts (4 M10 - 1.5x70); they are only grade 3 (lowest grade there is but its enough for this application.)FYI- grade three has no notches or lines on the head of the bolt. 4 has 1 notch, 5 has 2 and 6 (the strongest you can get other then aircraft grade which is a whole different system) has 3. There are a few other sybmbols which relate to different things, but I do not have that information in my head.

Sweet. Sometimes I wish I didnt have the mind set of going a different route with my 240 and its dual... But yeah pictures of the progress from start to finish will lead me to get some and enjoy.

alright here is the beginning: manifold, a/c, egr and altenator have all been removed. This picture was taken off a crappy cell phone camera.



*Note*The white thing in the back is the 91 front bumper I am redoing and putting on my 90

LOL It'd be a problem, but I don't allow food or drink in my car, I also rarely allow passengers. Most my friends can't respect my car enough to warrant riding in it. I've had too many broken doors and panels from people that don't understand what 16 year old car means lol.
