it took a month with my crappy budget and i learned ALOT. i was a complete noob when i picked this car up but thanks to my mad genius buddy i've come a long way.
well parts i put on the car.injectors and fuel raildistributorcoilalternatormotor mountsNGK spark plugs and cablesintake piping and air filterMAFwater pumpfan and fan clutchnew belts
me n my buddy timed the dissy but it was completely off so i had to drop the oil pump and we got it on the right tooth. The motor mounts i did myself and it took me oooo about 10 hours(told ya i was a noob)alternator took me a while to actually get off the car(no space to move)otherwise installing the rest was rather easy.
The oil was blacker than the blackest black of all blackness so i changed that today with the oil filter finally since we were ready to start the car and topped of the brake and power steering.
We had major battery trouble. The battery was completely dead from the old alternator being shot. So we jumped it and it simply wouldn't keep a charge so i checked the fuse box. I didnt know what i was looking for i was just following a hunch and i saw an Alternator fuse on the diagram, popped the box open and it was missing. Hit up a junkyard today and got one. Battery still wouldn't keep a charge so we started looking at any loose/faulty wires and found the wires for the old fog lights that we ripped off, so we completely took them out and the battery finally kept a charge.
So moment of truth i put it in drive, its an auto and it kept cutting out.We started pulling plugs and 3 and 4 still weren't firing up! I was about to give up i had lost all hope in my car when my friend got the evil genius look in his eyes and went over to my dissy(i got excited (no ****) When i had connected the spark plug cables i had done it in numerical order 1,2,3,4(yes i told you im a noob) so my friend swapped 3 and 4 and the cars started up like a damn champ put it in drive and took off. I could only drive it around the block since its not registed but my god it was so amazing
DDDDDDDDDD.We pulled the plugs again to see if 3 and 4 were firing and there was a SLIGHT change in idle like almost unnoticeable so does that mean they're firing up? when we pulled 1 and 2 it was a major difference but like i said 3 and 4 were very slight.
Well ya thats my month long story of me working on my car and now it finally runs just gotta register it and thats gonna be another financial holocaust.
