So, I parted out my 90 rb25 drift car and bought the parts to do this build early last year, haven't really had time and decided yesterday that there is no time like the present i suppose. Unlike every other build thread out there and due to the fact that i am not 100% on my plans for a few aspects of this car I am not going to do the whole play by play thing. I am going to take some pictures and hopefully you guys will figure it out. If I ever get it done I will comment on everything. In my mind there is nothing worse than a know it all thread about a car that doesn't get finished. If anyone decides to follow this i will try to update this every week hopefully. Well thats enough of that, time for some pics. Later, Richie.

not sure yet. gonna get all of the chassis work done first then decide. right now i have a never been used innovative gt72 that i have had sitting on a shelf in my garage for 2 years that i'm thinking about, but more than likely i am gonna stay with the twins. i have 2 awd 26 transmission's 2 front driveshafts, 2 oil pans and 2 front diff's so i'm ready to break some driveline parts but i need to find extra front axles. i also have a os giken triple plate for it too. i got lucky on the swap and it has hks turbos on it, 800 cc injectors, greddy oil relocation and ext oil coolers on it and a mines ecu. i started the halfcut before i took it apart so at leat i know it runs.

You going to tear it apart?

very nice! those HKS turbos are a pretty penny! ever wanna get rid of 'em, lemme know lol. you got a great deal on the half cut, lots of goodies on it. and its good that you know it runs, at least you're not dealing with a locked up motorset. i like the twins better myself, but an innovative gt72 sounds pretty impressive! as in chassis work, do you mean RHD conversion? ive heard before that if you keep twin turbos on left hand drive 240's that the O2 housings will hit the steering rack/column. im pretty certain on this about the S13, S14 im not too sure, so dont mark my words...but a custom exhaust could prob fix that!

keep us updated!

seems your goin awd?(anythings possibl) i would like awd 260sx! plus you could just get shaft inserts. 2 secs back to 2 wheel drive! i duno seemed cool. is the engine dirty because they go head cut it half and it sits till sold?? how many miles on the half cut? tis may lead me to sell what i have. LOL

yes and no. i am going to put a oil pump in it and weld my crank collar on and when its apart for that we will see what is going on in the block. the head looks like new inside the valve covers. this isn't my first rb so i'm not intimidated by it.

well, it snowed here today and was 19 out so it seemed like a perfect day to freeze my a** off and work on the car since i haven't been there to do anything to it in 2 weeks. i stopped by and turned on my heater then ran to grab some food and stopped to pick up some more drill bits. when i got back to the shop after the heater had ran for an hour and a half the temp was up to a sweet 33 degrees in there. bleh. so short narrative, started at 12 and left at 430, i cut the upper rail open to get to the strut tower then removed the strut tower on the left side. gonna do the right side tomorrow and start cutting on the halfcut. if i do i'll post up some more progress pics.

thanks!

well guys it looks like i am going to go with the single. so.......... that means that the hks 2530 twin kit will be going up for sale along with the mckinney downpipe, mines ecu and the injectors, i also have a rwd rb25 block, rb25 head, mckinney 26 mounts, and a rb20 trans from a couple of swaps ago that i am going to sell to fund the engine build now. once i get it all rounded up and together i'll take pics and post it in the classifieds thread. i am going to need a t4 manifold here soon i imagine for mockup once i get closer.

in other news i went to the shop last night and cut out everything on the right side and am started cutting the halfcut apart now. i realized once i was at the shop that even though i had the camera the memory card was still hanging out of my pc. more pics in a few days.

i wouldn't waste my time with that ITS turbo...innovative turbo's have a tendency to not last long before needing a rebuild

well.............. been a while but with all the snow we got a few weekends ago i didn't get to work on my car any so sunday 2 weeks ago i finally got time to start back and broke my drill press. i got pissed and went home. last saturday i drove 4 hours to pick up drill parts then 4 back. sunday i fixed the drill. this weekend i will make some headway hopefully. the 2530's are still on the swap i need to take it all apart so i can figure out what to do with it all. i have a new mckinney twin downpipe and the hks's have the hks turbo outlets on them too. i'd like to sell everything as i wont need any of it once the car is single. i am keeping the mafs. for now. plans change but for now thats the plan. as far as the turbo, we will see how long it lasts, i've had it on the shelf for lets say 6 years now. worse comes to worse i can get it rebuilt but for the record this is the smoothest longest spinning new turbo i've ever seen. my gt3071r wouldn't spin a 1/4 of the time that this one does.

well i didn't get to spend as much time as i wanted on the car this weekend but i did make progress, now that my drill is fixed i was able to make my "strut tower/frame rail alignment tool" so next weekend i can cut the towers out of the cut and start jigging them up in the car and be able to tell exactly where everything needs to go so that the front geometry is all correct. i had to do a clutch and flywheel in a 01 2.5 rs today and that took most of the day so i didn't get to start cutting yet. that will be next saturday.

I'm excited to see the progress updates too! These pics are making are bringing me back to when I removed my stock strut towers and welded in the GTR ones. I like the alignment tool too, similar to what I made for my S14.
