Girl trys to turn left onto road, doesn't check good enough apparantly, pretty much stops in my lane and waits for the impact.. Her brand new 06 Mustang (brand new as in it still had dealer tags on it) will most likely only need a new rear quarter panel and a new door while my 240 is practically totalled. I've had my car close to 4 years now, 2 of which with the RB.. I miss it already. The girl most likely got the Mustang as some kind of gift, graduation maybe and I believe she just got her licence.

Sucks. A lot.

its a 1991 SE s13 w/ rb20det

No word yet on the extent of the damage or what I will be getting for it but I'm going to fight for what I put into it.

Wear your seatbelts.

Yeah.. I joked with my girlfriend who was in the car with me that the only good outcome to this is that its one less mustang off the streets. Well, that and of course that everyone is alright.

So... anyone looking to sell a car? :\

Man, thats painful to look at. I sorrow for your losses, the only way i can avenge your cars death is to beat as many of those damn mustangs as i can for ya.

Good luck on trying to find another Chasis, hopefully the RB is salvagable.

Pull all your reciepts together, make copies, and fax them to her insurance company. Contact the aggent handling the claim and let them know you will not take a penny less then what you have in it. There's a good chance they would rather fix it when they find out how much they would have to pay to total it. If it can be fix. Hate to see a 240 go down like that.

they wont fix it.they will total it in a heartbeat, had to go thru this same thing (altho not to this extent) when my s13 was hit, even tho the nose was slightly damaged they still totaled it.time to move on man, grab a s14, bigger and better things await.hope you get a good setlement sum tho, you will proly have to get a laywer for a decent one.

Hey JJ, yeah she was in the car but we are both fine. The engine should be fine, I'm going up there today to look at it. I hope to pull the engine and put it in another one but I'm going to need help with that of course

I had already fixed the high idle problem for good about 6 months ago haha but yeah, atleast this is a good excuse to get a decent sized radiator and FMIC.. I will let you know how it turns out.

Who did the swap? Better pics of the wiring please, and the whole car in general. 5k for an RB25 isnt too terribly steep, depending on what else is done.

JJ, if my engine is salvagable, interested in maybe swapping it over ?

if his insurance company keeps the car he can buy it back for less that a grand most likely, they dont really keep totaled cars and is highly unlikely they would sell any of the parts. A guy i know totaled his VDUb he bought it back from his insurance for $700, stripped all teh parts, cut the car in half, and scrapped the rest. good luck man, keep us posted on the money you get back ive always been curious to how this works, since most older 240 owners just have liability and all. good luck!

Im selling my car this week and am either picking up a new project or a completed S14 SR car, either way Ill help but it may be a little bit. My room mate is starting his SR swap in our garage today though, but that should only take a few weeks. Let me know how it goes with the insurance company and we will figure it out.

Also, did anything on the front of the motor get busted up? Mine had a cracked timing gear, cracked CAS, cracked ignitor, needed a new crank pulley, etc. It was a big gamble re-swapping it with all those parts busted, could have ****ed the engine up big time, but it turned out OK>

Regardless, yeah Im here for ya mang.

Hey man...it's Richard from Braggin' Rights. Sorry to hear about your car, but when you're ready we'll swap the RB back into something and get it running again. Let me know...I'm right around the corner.

pics don't work

and i've been in the shoes of the mustang owner before (except i owned an accord lol)

i was turning left in this mall parking lot. i checked my right but it was hard to see around the cars parked illegally (they were going past the parking spots into the diagonals). so i waited for this lady to cross with her baby stroller and i went. BAM, this newer BLACK buick slams into my side. they were old, and handicapped of course...

This is why it is important to get your car appraised before such things happen. A lesson to all people who love their cars, IF YOUR CAR INCREASES IN VALUE the insurance company wants receipts before it happens.
