Idiot damaged my bumper---insurance or replace?

Ok, for those that don't know about the freeze in TX here, everything is covered in ice.

This morning someone with one of those LOW trailers with the tailgate down nicked my bumper and sped off. It's cracked below the left taillight, almost on the underside.

Worth replacing the bumper myself or should I call the insurance company?

fixed that for you.

do you have a picture of how bad it is? personally, i would consider contacting your insurance company if the crack is as bad as you say it is.

i have a $1000 deductable so this would be pointless for me .....depens on if you have what i do or not

I think mine is 500. Maybe I should get it changed and then report it later this week

MIne is $250 but I never had to use it so I'm thinking it's money thrown in the wind. Might change it to $500 instead and save considerably..

Mine is also 5C but uninsured motorist is $250, which in this case they are treating it like.

I'm pretty sure I know who did it, but I can't prove it.
