I've had nothing but great service at my local dealer and this week I went in to get the Versa inspected and the next day I noticed my Sunglasses were gone from the holder up top. I'm 100% sure they were there when I drove in and I only use them to drive so they never leave the car.

I know the smart thing to do would be to remove valuables but this is rediculous. Sad part is I've done every recommended service and have spent over $1000 in service and their service has been great that's why I continue to go there. This really left a sour taste in my mouth

I've been debating my next course of action. Ultimately I think I will just write a letter to the service manager and let him know what has happened and that I no longer plan on taking my car there.

To add insult to injury they charged me $22 to change a brake light bulb that should be covered under warranty but luckily I caught the error and they removed the charge. Service rep said a generic part number was used so the computer didn't pick up the fact that it was under warranty. <<<<<bunch of bull.

What do you guys think my course of action should be. They were a pair of Ray Bans that weren't cheap.

Did you check elsewhere in the car? Maybe the mechanics moved them to the glove box or something to keep them safe while they were working on the car.

Did you verbally mention this to the service manager? Should at least call and ask before writing the letter.

You should talk to the service manager about it and if nothing is done then writing a letter would be the next step. I'm sure if you go about it correctly they do what needs to be done. Just don't take "oh I'm sorry but I can't help you" or any other crap like that from them about it. In the end they won't end up giving you a brand new set of Ray Ban Sunglasses, it would probably be a free service or something to compensate your lost.

And NO I don't think you should have to remove valuables from your car when you take it to the dealer for service. That's your personal space and most of the servicing doesn't happen there... I've forgot hundreds of dollars in my glove compartment while my car was in service at the dealership... It was still there after.

Sorry to hear about your lost, hope all works out for you.

OKAY....now I feel like a total dirt bag....

My Sister calls me about an hour ago and asked me if I forgot my Sun glasses because there is a pair on her living room table.

I'm glad i haven't contacted the dealer and I feel like a total douche. At least it reaffirms that they do the right thing because I was already hating the fact that I would have to switch dealers since they are great.

Damn I feel stupid.

Edge- we've all had those moments, but a lot of people don't have the integrity to admit it. I thank you for that.

I am curious as to why you would abandon going to that dealer, who you obviously like, when the issue would have been one bad employee in the place and you had not even given the manager a chance to address it. If he had previous complaints, yours might have been enough to finally identify the culprit and get rid of him. Then you're back to a great dealer.

If you never did business with any place that had one bad apple working for it, you wouldn't be shopping anywhere. At least give them an opportunity to rectify the situation before you abandon them.

Very true.

There are things in life that are hard to find and an honest dealer is definitely one of them.

You should! LOL just kidding

Anyway, thanks for letting us know and I'm glad you came to the post and mentioned it before you went back to the dealership and said anything to them about it.
