any one have any experience with them?

I have a stock KA24E in one of my 240s and figured it might be fun to experiment with it. How would I get the car to read the air flowing in? ITB's get rid of the MAF.

Standalone like megasquirt. Im planning on ITBs for my dual cam. ITBs from a Gixxer 750 and convert it to map. Megasquirt or any other stand alone engine managment will do that for you

Best thing would be ITBs into a LARGE sealed plenum with ram air piped from front bumper. You could use a mustang MAS or something like that. A hot wire sensor is going to be more accurate than a MAP sensor. This way you have the added throttle response of the ITBs being provided with more air at lower temps and more accurate airflow readings.

The downsides: cost and possible change in runner length could affect powerband negatively.

ITB's are going to be largely a waste unless you've had a fair amount of other work done.

Talk to DeviousKA.

I agree, and like i said if you werent really careful to design them correctly then you might even loose power.

What is it that do they exactly?

increases throttle responseThe engine responds to your foot much faster both when accelerating and decelerating.ITBs also increase the strength of the pressure waves in the intake runners which improves performance for what ever range of rpms the exhaust and intake runner lengths are tuned. Improvements otherwise come from having more air available, but if you have no need for more air (cams, porting, etc) then theres not going to be a tremendous difference. Just plain driveablitly should be better.
