Ok, I've been talking to a few FI and NA guys. The FI guys go KAT on thier cars while the NA guys go carbs and even ITBs on thier cars with upped compression. Has anyone thought about mixing these two concepts together? Running a turbo setup alind with an ITB setup similar to the GTi_R's SR setup? Think of how awesome that car would be. And thoughs or comments on this?

You can't really have a true itb setup with forcied induction, because you'd have to take in all the air from a plenum... which is what itb's eliminate.

You'd still have 4 individual throttle bodies, but what's the point if you still have all that plumbing that the air has to travel through?

iv seen someone fabricate their own ITB on a FI unit..im not to sure how it works as of yet, but i do see the charge/cold pipe splitting into 4 different pipes that go directly into seperate throttle bodies..each pipe is specifically designed to take up the same amount of air the other pipes do, by calculating vaccume..im not to sure if this really works..but i can check into it.

The only reason to ITB is to tune the length of the runners to sway the hp band and eliminate some restrictions before the TB on a plenum setup.

The closest thing to ITB and FI would be to use a short runner intake manifold with good radius from the runners to the plenum.

edit: Also an ITB will equalize the amount of airflow to each cylinder so that is also a consideration for the amount of power you achieve.

once you mix forced induction with an itb setup, the only real big benefit would be throttle response.
