Alrightyo. This is how it starts. I was looking into an ITB setup on xcessive today and I started speaking with my personal mechanic who happens to have a machine shop on-site. I have this idea in mind to setup two separate intake manifolds both routed on custom CAI's. But wouldn't this require two separate throttle bodies? I'm thinking cylinders 1 and 2 on separate and 3 and 4. Would something of this sort even be possible and if so would it be to my advantage? I didn't plan on putting a turbo or anything quite yet but I was just curious if anyone had done this already on this forum. (and yes I know someone more than likely has, just looking for some guidance) If I was to complete this, I believe it would open up some new possibilities as far as dual turbos/dual exhaust setup.. Have the turbos run on independent exhaust manifolds. Only problem with this is, it leaves me with limited amount of space. Regardless that's something I'll work on thinking about later. But for the twin CAI, any thoughts?

**NOTE. If I got an ITB setup and just put two in manifolds would that be possible too? I'm beginning to think that's the better idea over trying to setup a custom throttle body by myself...

**NOTE 2. This would require two MAS which means reprogramming of the ECU would need to take place. But its OBDI so its not as bad as it seems. Create a formula for the ECU to take the original MAS # to divide in half perhaps... A lot of research for me to do but I thought it'd be an interesting project that may expand the possibilities of this engine perhaps.

Very interesting idea, but what would you expect out of a setup like that?

I highly doubt you'd make any signifigant power for the costs...

Plus- since these Ka's don't rev high, the stock intake is very good until I believe 400whp...

Hmm That's why I figured I'd ask before I did any kind of in depth research and whatnot. And 400whp, really? Learn something new everyday haha. Thanks for the input though, greatly appreciated.

I agree with WD.

You can go through all the time and effort of doing all that but its not really going to get you any gains at all. You gotta think this isnt some revolutional idea here, its been tried and tried again. It doesnt work, no one does it unless your going for a bad *** N/A setup.

And a dual intake ITB setup is just a bad idea on an inline motor...

Sorry to threadjack, but a while back I saw a pic on here of a KA-T with ITB's. It had an electric blue valvecover/accents and looked B/A. But It wasn't in a 240... Looked more like a 510 or something...

Anybody know what I'm talking about? I can't find that thread again and I want that pic...

I think the one your talking about is the SOHC which has over 200whp N/A. Its a neat little project and its a race ready motor.

And like mentioned above since it's N/A ITB's make perfect sense in this situation.

YESSIR! That is it! It may be pointless, but that doesn't make it any less easy on the eyes...

I keep hearing everyone say it would be a waste of time on the KA but as far as I know...my buddy that owns that 510 has had pretty good results. Now we all know that the 'feel' test is not all that accurate but without dyno results its all we have. I know that his off the line acceleration changed quite a bit and I cant say much for the top end because I dont really know. From what Ive seen in the numerous threads started about the subject, the point hasnt really been proven for either case....true dyno results for a turbo KA with and without the ITB's on the same motor. If I missed that thread, please point me to it because I am also planning to do the ITB setup on my KA. The ones pictured are the 750 bodies and the ones I plan to use are the Hayabusa bodies which are bigger......I expect great results but we will see!
