I have read a lot of posts about this.I had the old style gas pedal in my 2002 Q45. The dealer charged me to replace it with the updated one but told me the ECU did not need updating? From what I have read if the car had the old gas pedal it stands to reason the Computer updated were not done? Is the dealer just trying to avoid doing work for free and is there a way to check a VIN # confirming my car indeed doesn't need the update. The car hesitates bad in all gears and the shifting is herky jerky. It still has alot of power when it gets going though!

Dealer will be happy to do any work you or Nissan agree to pay to accomplish.

TSB are just addendum to FSM, things discovered after FSM published.

If your car still hesitates you definitely need to head back to your dealership for upgrade. They need to reprogram or replace your TCM and ECM needs reprogramming. It will cost you min. of $900 to do this. Q's built before July 2001 were affected. On the plus side you had the pedal upgrade but TCM/ECM upgrade is necessary to work properly.

Good luck!

You need to read the TSB.
