3 days ago i got fed up with my car running all irratically and stalling and i finally dismantled the intake all the way up to the manifold. I pulled the IACV out too and cleaned all of it so immaculately that the black woman from the pinesol commercials would be proud. Now it runs super cherry and even better now that i replaced all kinds of stuff before hand thinking it was those who was the culprit. New test cat, intake, chip, plat II plugs and all. And that's just the performance parts. I got pix coming soon. Thanx everyone that has helped me with this ongoing struggle for peace.

damn thats what i need to do. what was your car doing?. like what were some of the symptoms besides the funny idle?. I was told mine has a bad iacv and it does have an erratic idle but also it hesitates up to like 1800 rpm;s then clears out. Post soem pics cause i would love to see what u did, would be a great project for this weekend.. good job

it would idle wierd and high at a stop and hesitate or die when i gave it gas. Sometimes it wiuldnt rev over 2500 and it would clunk into gears etc. But not all problems have the same symptoms bro. Just yank the iacv and the whole intake length up to the throttle body and clean it all with maf cleaner super good! I even cleaned the inside of the manifold where i pulled the iacv with the cleaner as far as i could reach my fingers. Use a microfiber rag and dont worry about the maf cleaner it evaporates quick so drown everything. Be careful abiut the iacv when u dismantle the little pieces the screws can strip reall easy. Spray it really well and tap the screwdriver into the screw several times with another tool to loosen it first. U strip it and ur fukked.

what kind of tools did u need. 10 and 12 mm sockets and phillips screwdrivers? i might do this saturday.. im gettin rid of the intake that was on the car when i bought it and getting the original airbox used.. i dont like the growl noise too much. i heard something about a idle relearn process, did u have to do anything or it went back to normal after u put everything back together? can i use throttle body cleaner or is maf something different? thanx for the help tho

use maf claner its more sensor friendly. I should have pulled the battery for two hours to reset the computer but I gotta do the knock sensor soon so I'm just gunna wait on that.

i got my factory airbox today and since i had everything out i cleaned the throttle body and pulled the iacv out. It was pretty easy to get out too. Now when u did yours did u unscrew the black part with the 2 phillips screws and clean that out? I pulled everything out and cleaned and put it back together and no difference. When i'm on the highway and hit the gas its beautiful but off the line from a stop its a dog up to like 1800 rpms. Any ideas? Also the maf was replaced recently. Would a tune up like plugs and fuel filter sound like a fix for this?.. thanx

maybe its hard to guess. Could be alot of things. Fast idle, tps, timing chain. Pick one. I can only help so much. And ya I took apart everything in the iacv and cleaned it super good.
