So help!

I have a 91 240SX KA24DE coupe, and when I start it, it starts squeeling for about 30 to 45 seconds and then stops. After that it doesn't make a sound. So what's up with that?

Thanks a ton. Nick :help

Sounds like your alternator belt is slipping.

Well if this helps any I was trying to figure out what was going on, and the squeeling stops if I rev the engine up to 2500 rpms and let it back down. and the belts look fine. Any idea's????

Tighten the alternator belt. If it snaps buy a new one. i recognmend buying a new one if you haven't replaced it in a while, its only a few bucks. Nick

p/s belt sounds more like the colprit here. try taking all the drive belts off and start it. if the noise is gone. you have just isolated your problem to the drive belts. replace them all good preventitive maint:) just dont leave it running with them off cause it would overheat

Honestly, to learn about your car and how to take stuff on it apart, read your Chilton's and study some of the threads on here. They're really very informative and you can learn a great deal.

Or if you have a FSM, more power to ya :)

Factory Service Manual... you can find them a few places, although eBay would probably be the cheapest and easiest to get one from.

Tighten your belts. If they look worn buy new ones. if you want to know how to do it just look in any general repair manual. Nick

For the power steering belt, there will be an idler pully on the upper right side of the belt path. Next to it will be an adjusting screw, loosen that quite a bit and slide the belt right off. The alternator and AC will have the same ones on it, just loosen the bolt and slide the belt off.
