I'm from New Zealand, and have an 05 m35 stagea. My one runs a vq35de. My mates one runs a turbo vq, a vq25det. As far as I can we have the same running gear as the US m35, except we have a sleepy looking wagon

Does your M35 have a Nissan badge or an Infiniti Badge?

Nissan M35 =/= Infiniti M35

Infiniti M35 = Nissan Fuga

Yeah I think it's an entirely different car, sorry to say. Might share some drivetrain stuff, but still a different car.

This is a JDM Infiniti M:

Nissan M35 =/= Infiniti M35

Infiniti M35 = Nissan Fuga
Ilya , here in New Zealand we get anything and everything Japan Import. A Nissan M35 is a Stagea. From the Imports ive seen running around the Fuga's are just Fuga on the rego label and otherwise identified by the chassis code.

an then the occasional Jap Market Fuga seems to be some kind of Weird Japanese Option of an Infinity even though its Right hand drive and has nissan interior badging, with Infinity Exterior Badging.

Just my 2c

I realize this....my point is simply, per the OP's post, that the JDM M35 is NOT mechanically different (title of thread) from the USM M35...it's just different in name, front badge/rear badge and obviously RHD and Japanese text. Otherwise all of the interior parts such as seats, A/V, the transmission, engine (at least the V6 - don't remember if the V8 was only a US option cause American's like their V8's or what), etc. are the same as far as I know.

The Nissan M35, though, while maybe sharing some characteristics with a JDM Fuga/USM M35...is an entirely different car with entirely different chassis codes (Fuga/M35 is Y34, Y50, Y51 while Nissan Stagea is WC34 and M35 - which BTW is a terrible chassis code considering it could easily be confused with an Infiniti M35 lol). The interior on a Nissan M35 looks more like something you'd find in a Nissan 350Z, etc.

That being said...I used to hate wagons but the last 5-6 years I've started to dig em. Looks good.

Back home we call that an estate model. I think it looks brilliant ! It looks like a sleeper. A close-to-plain Jane body, but underneath its a beast with 400 hp that will smoke other estate cars off the road. (accept the Merc AMG estate, of course).
