Alright, im bout to get this thing going. Now after all this new manifold, massive turbo, fmic and all that crap im sure my little ecu is going to be like WHOA... WTF did you do?? So im going to have to help him out caus hes not all that smart... What kind of fuel and ignition management do i want? I have wanted an e-manage forever but ive heard mixed opinions on it. I can get one right now with all i need for $350 shipped... thats one hell of a deal. Anyone have any other below $500 options? I dont want a safc2 because its just not powerful enough for me when i can pay an extra $100 to get the emanage. And no SDS dee.. im not mr. gates...

Buy an eprom emulator and burner and wideband and map it yourself! ;)

sounds like the emanage is the way to go for you. I don't know where else you'll find any good standalone for a sub $500 price range.

Doh! I didn't think anything about an ecu burn. That might be a nice option too. The only thing is that it'll be kind of a pain to tune initally cuz you'll have to keep swapping chips till you get it right.

Well, amazingly enough i have looked into that. I was too scared to ever pop the chip off the board and solder the socket on and scince i cant drive for another month i never went out and got it done. I found a very nice write up on building an eprom tuner and i even have al ittle computer board creating kit to make the writer i just have to get the socket soldered on and find a chip that i can write to. But how much control do i have with an eprom tuner? Ignition... Injectors... how many fuel points can it go at.... I dont need standalone because the emanage is a piggy back too...

Lol alright well i pulled up an old thread on the eprom programming and i just solved my tuning problems except for getting laptop software... i got an eprom programmer for $45 premade that does almost every chip in the world including ours (27c128). But i got an eeprom 28c256 chip so i can load 2 files on there and switch them so i can have a high and low boost tune setting. Anyone have software links to the stuff i need to program the chips?

Use LiveEdit with the emulator, ROMeditor without.

Ok so what does the emulator do? I understand the editor to program and burn chips but is the emulator like realtime into the ecu??

yep...the emulator makes it so you can run the engine off a "emulated" EPROM on your laptop.and allows you to make realtime changes to the settings while the engine is running.great for tuning!!!

The one linked on his site runs for around $180 if I'm not mistaken.

Opens a lot of doors. :)

Umm do a search for a thread in the ca forums called eprom tuning. Someone showed how to hook a switch up with a wire to one pin and you just flip the switch and it will run off the other file.
