I haven't had a chance to find the fuse yet, maybe tomorrow. But yesterday I turned my '90 on leaving work about 45deg out. Got a puff of white smoke, I've never seen smoke come from this car until now. I turned it off, checked oil, seemed low, turned it on again and got another smaller puff. Oil was also dirty, too dirty actually since it had only been 600mi since last change w/ M1 15w 50. Anyway decide to do another change the following day(today). Got back in car, only to find that my power seat no longer works....g'damn.

Now it's really dark...I have no interior lights. dash, radio, climate and glove box are ok, but no door, map, or dome lights... are these linked to my power seat in anyway?

Do i have a short or need a new battery or something....walmart said battery checked fine

also Monday, the instrument panel "read out" in left corner went out, now is back on...

In addition, I added techron fuel sys cleaner for the first time on sunday, could this cause oil to get dirty and the smoke i saw yesterday.

First do you have a fuse tester or a circuit light. Basically a screwdriver with a light in the handle with a ground clip. You need to check each and every fuse.

Also even if all the fuses check out ok with the light take them out and clean the contact on the fuse thoroughly. Just a possibility that it is not making full contact. I believe Dennis recommends changing all the fuses at some point anyway.

Secondly, you need to take off that driver side panel. Does it still have that short sound on the speaker. There may be any underlying issue behing that door.

NAH, i don't have the tester you're talking about. I'll probably change all fuses now (small ones).

so what you saying is that tapping the door or bumping it with my knee isn't a real solution to the short problem? it works

Well found my project this wknd...fix the ground. The door is all clips or clips and screws? I know the max was both...

And the sunvisor is sturdy, i think it's in there for good...i've got FULL mobility now, I was yanking on it to get it out, NO budging.

Hey, you said that you are using 15w-50!.

Isn't 15w-50 "only" good down to 15 degrees? I think it might be time for you to change to something with a lower rating of 0, 5, or 10w. Since winter is coming.

For fuses, you just need to pull them out and look at them. If the metal piece inside is broken and/or black, that means that it is blown

Like everybody says around here, look at the rear bulbs and sockets.Yeah I agree with PMQ, 15/50 M1 is a little thick, heats the oil too much and overall causes too much strain on the pump and chain; for no real gain. It's for diesels.

Yeah I dont think so? Hey JT how is that cold 68 degrees feeling. Probably not as bad as our 48 in NYC.

By the way I just switched to 0 - 40 oil mobil 1 and do notice a difference in blue smoke output

yay for me for now.

The rear sockets can have an affect on the interior lighting?

I noticed last night i dont have a security light on dash anymore, I've yet to test it to see if the system is actually working or not. This is starting to not look so good.

It's easy to check them, and there are threads all over on the weird stuff that happens. Do a search or two.
