so, i know this has been beaten to dead but still, is always important to remember and here is why.

let me start by saying i am probably the LUCKIEST guy in the whole universe. I work at a bicycle shop here in galveston ( gotta confess, the z is the second on my list of addictions, first are bicycles... ) and at this time a year can be slow so i had a free day yesterday. Well tonight i was going to go get some stuff at my corner store and i get the dreaded smell of gas... i though that was weird because i had fixed the extremely leaky hose on the fuel dampener, so i open the hood and i start the search... boy did i find something.

There is a little piece of fuel line off the fuel pressure regulator just as long as the one off the fuel dampener, but this one is more hidden and goes to what i assume is the fuel rail. Well, when i tighten my fuel clamps a month or so ago i completely missed those, the result? there was gas literally shooting out of the line into the plenum. I really can't fathom the idea of my car not catching fire, my car, with a leak of that magnitude, should be burn to ashes.

what caused it? the clamps where completely loose, but as a precautionary measure i will change the line tomorrow morning.

so please people, old members will most likely not like this post because it really is a beaten dead horse, but i still think is necessary. Even if you do not smell gas, grab a screwdriver, open your hood and check the 20? i think, fuel clamps in your car, please do regardless of odor or not, and i say regardless is because I'm sure my leak has been going for weeks, yet i did not smell a thing until tonight.

Good thing you found it...

Old members won't have a problem with this post... If it saves Z's its a good post.. Newer members/lurkers may not know about this since the thread we had when it first got cold is now in the annals of history.

I've literally lost count how many Z's I've saved with this video this winter. Especially since the old guide only pointed out 16 of the 20 clamps.
Glad you found your leak John. Let me know if your leak was on the fuel pressure regulator side of that line or the fuel rail side. I'm keeping score over here.

well both clamps where completely loose but the gas was shooting from the fuel pressure regulator side. shooting straight to the plenum.

and add a leak to the fuel dampener on the vid, i had a leak there too.
