So. a story for the present situation.
I went to Fl for school, built a KA24DE-T S14, after that D.I.A.F when I was visiting home, I got an S13 hatch with an SR20. Sold that when it was time to return home, and got a Nissan Cedric and was loving myself, Boost & VIP, what's not to love?

Fast forward to January of this year, some a$$ without insurance in a Maxima cuts me off, driving out of a residence onto the main road without looking or paying attention to my horn... The damages are around $10K since I will have to get all my parts directly from Japan. Sad thing is, that is more than I paid for the car, and since he doesn't have insurance, my insurance company won't do anything...(Bastards. I'm sooo going to switch companies.)

I'm in the process of suing him, The second hearing is in August. (too far damnit!) I'm going for $5K since anything higher will take me out of regular court, and incur higher fees, and also require a different lawyer, plus more time.

My conundrum now, is when (if :ohno: ) I get this money, what do I do? I have two cars that really have my interest with the options I'm liking right now.
First is an S14 Silvia with an RB25 swap. It needs bodywork and some wiring done, but it's driving and I have the know how to get this thing back in good condition.

Second is an S13 Silvia Q's that has been turboed, and cracked a piston. If I got this shell, I'd want to swap in my VQ30DET, rebuild the SR with DET parts and swap on a VET head and either save it for when I get another shell or sell it. The only problem is, I see no definite info here or on a particular vq30det website on how the wiring should go, and I don't want to start something I can't finish for lack of info. But the end result would be awesome...

And of course, I could get the RB-S14 AND the S13 shell, put the VQ in the 14 and the RB in the 13, and my business partner can drive the 13.

What business you may ask? Well, we're starting a performance shop, so we will need shop cars...but this whole VQ harness is the main thing putting me off. Yeah, the workshop manual has been found, but its a few hundred, and all in Japanese, which I have not mastered yet...which adds to downtime. Oh, and our first customer car? R33 Skyline GTS-T :naughty:

So, Throw out your opinions! and, I'll work on getting pics lol. :gotme

In for Cedric pics!
I beg you, plz... VQ30DET swap! :mike

If you guys are starting a new shop, what better way to get attention and notoriety than to introduce this highly underrated motor to the U.S. market?! So much potential! It just needs someone with the resources to actually complete the swap and feature it.

I think I'm NICO's #1 VQ30DET fan... lol

It's actually the Bahamas market and not the U.S. market :pface: but we would like to be able to participate in shows over there once we get things off the ground. :bigthumb:

I'm workin my arse off now so I can get a car to work on and have as a shop car. But my ultimate goal, would be to slap the VQ30DET into an S15 Varietta, cheapest I've seen one for was ~$8K. So until we work our way to be able to snatch one of those and not be hurting, gonna have to sit tight. :naughty:

But ok, I'm gon dedicate some more time to searching VQ forums and emailing people to find out all I need for the swap. Maybe I'll find an S14 shell by then lol.

Alright, so I guess I can update this then... I got an S14 Silvia to put the VQ30 into. Needs some body work, TLC, and spacers. The 17x8 R33 rims are rubbing on the greddy suspension, and the 16" 7spokes I have on the Cedric don't clear the calipers.
I'm uploading the pics to my comp...it's all taking long. they'll be up eventually lol.

AAaaaaaaaaaand how it sits now... I'll probably attack the ECU and wiring harness with my multi-meter today to confirm what does what and goes where, seeing as the workshop manual isn't really avail. yet.

What REALLY sucks, is the last TWO times I've been to court the JUDGE...yes, the JUDGE didn't show up to the hearing. So yeah, my build is going to be SUPER slow until I get paid what is owed to me. If I was in the states I'd probably sue the Judge too. This is ridiculous.

It is, until you realize that parts from Japan aren't overnight, not exactly the most affordable, and the cost to repair it is twice what I bought the car for.
That's what happens when you buy rare cars and get taken out by negligent drivers.
Well, at least for my S14 I have an engine 1litre larger than stock, & .5l larger than the engine that just came out of it, with better weight distribution. :gotme It all works out somehow? always getting roped back to the S-chassis lol
