well finally after 3 months i finally started up my kat today. it started right up and idled great. i didnt drive it because i didnt have my btm hooked up, but i just go done wiring that up tonight. otherwise i saw no problems while it was running other than the paint i used on my custom manifold started smoking and melting off. i guess i should have read the label for the temp of the paint first. i have one question. should i run the hose that goes to the btm from the IC piping or from the FPR hose, or does it matter? right now i have it T'ed off my wastegate hose which is off the coldpipe. hopefully tommorrow i can drive it to the muffler shop and have them connect my downpipe to the rest of my exhaust. i will have some pics up soon when i get everything running right, probably next week.

Congrats Dan, I'm lad you got the MDD BTM figured out. If you get t running and things are working corrctly, I would like the wiring specifics. That way I can post them in the Article section and add them to my FAQ's. You'll get full credit of course. Pics would also be a great idea. So long as you don't mind me using them.

Again, congrats on the KADET. I just bought my first 240 2 days ago. 95SE with all the options...etc. I'm pulling my hair out waiting to start my own projects. If you ever need anything, shoot me an email.

ok, well i took it for the first drive yesterday. overall it ran pretty good but i didnt push it. i did have a few problems. 1st, its overboosting. i got a crappy deltagate and i know thats my problem, but it says its a 5 psi spring, however it went up past 10psi and then i quickly let off the gas. holy **** that scared me, but i didnt hear any knocking. i thing the btm helped. i havent even gave it full throttle yet but its still fast as hell. i want to get it fixed so i can go wot. i think the wastegate is leaking. when i blow air into the hose going to the wastegate, i can hear some leaking out. should it do this? btw im probably buying a new tial anyways. my second problem was when i let off the gas quickly after accelerating it dies. almost evertime i come to a stop it wants to die if i let off quickly on the gas. what could this be? its not the bov, i ran it back to the intake. could it have anything to do w/ the wastegate? finally i had 2 more small problems, 1 im leaking a little oil around my sending unit "T". i keep tightening it but it keeps leaking. should i use some tape on the threads? also my downpipe is hitting on my steering column. i thought it would, that was such a tight fit when i made my downpipe. btw WD i will get you those installations for the btm, it was a ***** to install and is a lot harder than i had imagined. my dad is an electrition and it took me and him 4 hours to figure out. thanks for the complements, and please help me w/ my few problems. thanks.

ps: im using 370cc injectors w/ hacked mafs (2.6 id pipe) w/ a T3/To4e turbo.

Was the BTM really that hard to install? I'd like to get a copy of those directions, because I'm going to be installing one with my turbo. My e-mail is [email protected]

does it die after getting the rev really high then putting it in neutral? my car does that and from what i have read its becuase of the lightweight flywheel i have plus the lightweight driveshaft too. the revs jsut come down too fast.

i dont think the wastegate line should leak at all. is the line off the wastegate and vaccum source when u blew into it? if so get a new line. and get the tail too jsut looking at it it looks better than the deltagate

use soem thread locker for the T. try using some without teflon. the elbows going into my fmu were leaking so wheni was looking at different thread sealants the ones with teflon said not to use on fuel lines sincei could cause blockage.

My car use to die like that. Even though the BOV is re routed back into the system (after the MAF) the angle in which the air re-enters the system also is important bacause it can force air (some of it) back toward the MAF, giving a false reading. I moved the fitting further away from the MAF and angled it toward the turbo in hope to get all the air to flow into the turbo. IT HELPED A LOT. But it still stumbled a little.

The next thing i did was to turn the idle up a little to like 850~900 rpm (which really isn't bad) and all is good now. No more stumble and all is well.

hey thanks alot, it is angled in towards the turbo a little bit but it is real close to the mafs. i will try to angle it more and bump my idle up a little. i just got my 3'' exhxaust on today from the downpipe back. it sounds a lot different than it did N/A. it sounds so much better and i can hear the bov and the turbo. and im just going to go ahead and get a new tial, im not messing w/ the deltagate anymore.

hey, its not that hard, it was just hard for us because they send the wrong instructions w/ it and we had to pretty much make our own. i will have my dad make some good instructions and i will post them. i know there are a lot of people who need them. three of the 4 wires from the btm are easy, they just splice into the wires on the outside of the distributor but one of the wires has to go inside and be soldered to a connector and another connector has to be cut off. but i will get some directions soon.

is it leaking from the fitting thats in the block?? or on the "T" itself? did you use a npt fitting for the back of the block? because the block is a bspt thread pattern. that may be your problem there.

no i think its leaking from the T, not from the block. i tightened everything real tight but it still leaks a little bit. ill take it apart today and try some thread lock on it.

Like suggested, bum the ide a bit, check your TPS voltages and mess with the BOV return. Hopefully that works. The delatgate should work fine. You might want to change where the boost reference comes from.

Thx alot for the MSD help. I'll be diving in real soon. I was worried about the wiring diagram being incorrect. That always makes things a biatch. Any type of thread type will work on your oil leak, I've used the paste and the tpe before.

thanks, yesterday i angled in the bov return more so i will see if that helps. i put tape on the threads for the oil send. i will see how it runs today. i already ordered a new tial wastegate. the deltagate i have was a used one i got from ebay so im sure its bad.

WD, what is the TPS voltage and how do i check it? also i will get those directions i will make for that btm as soon as i get everthing worked out and have some time.

I dont think deltagates are crap--but a bad wastegate will definately cause problems. Glad tp hear no issues after the over boosting, and congrats on completing the project.
