Anyone else here have a bird (or, as my aviator buddy calls it, a B-1 R.D.?

George was "cheep"... LOL. His owner was going away to college and couldn't keep him.Jesda wrote:If you took away the beak, feet, and eyes, I'd swear you were trying to feed a mango. Expensive?
thats funny, my uncle is a postal worker who is also an a-hole. he has this big white bird that doesnt do much but bob his head and pinch people with his beak. however, he is not dead.Jesda wrote:If you took away the beak, feet, and eyes, I'd swear you were trying to feed a mango. Expensive?
The only bird enthusiast I ever knew was my uncle, who was an a-hole postal worker and is now dead. His birds were boring and didn't even have any cool colors.

We have a hamster and two rats. Dog could care less.dre1507 wrote:NICO HQ needs a guinea pig now......but from my past experiences, dogs and guinea pigs don't mix too well, so maybe not such a good idea.

Awesome! I used to have a Sun Conure, but in the midst of my divorce we gave him to some close friends. But, funny you should bring this up; as of this past Friday we picked up a sweet little Green Cheek Conure named "Jack". He's about 9 months and already my cats are trippin'! Harry is the gray kitten that is stuck to the side of the cage. He and Jack are becoming friends, as Harry wouldn't hurt a flea. However, not shown is one of my other cats "Java" (the black b*tch or "meat" as I call her) ... she already jumped out of nowhere and attacked Jack while he was sitting on my fiance's lap; even got a tail feather. Believe me, I slapped the crap out of her ... cat too.AZhitman wrote:George is the new NICO HQ mascot. He's a sun conure, and we're training him... well, actually, he's training us. ...... To anyone that thinks birds, cats, dogs (really any animal kept as a pet) are messy: It's all about the 'owner'. I have had birds, cats, dogs, rodents, fish, reptiles, etc. for many, many years. An owner just needs to stay on top of the cleaning and caring of any pet. We have right now 5 cats (put down my 20 year old last yearAZhitman wrote:No stink so far... Kinda messy, but that's because we kinda let him do as he pleases. He's getting a little more "tame" each day. Bex is clearly his favorite, and we're gonna start kicking up his training a little real soon.
Scotty - as an FYI, even incidental cat contact can kill a bird... something to do with their natural bacteria or whatever. At the very least, keep 'em away from his cage...
That would be pronounced "Bonerd," which I think is more amusing than the original.AZhitman wrote:or, as my aviator buddy calls it, a B-1 R.D.?
