Well, installed the new T3/T04E, the wastegate and whipped out the wideband for some sloppy tuning (as close as you can get with SAFC2).

Right now, stock MAF, ECU and 370's @ 8psi it feels GOOD! I'd say it pulls as strong as or stronger than a stock EVO. (I used to be the Svc. Mgr. at a Mitsu dealership, so I'm pretty familiar with their power characteristics)

After the BikiRom, 550's and N62 MAF, I'll hit the dyno for some real tuning (and real money...ouch) and crank out some 10-12psi runs. Maybe even 14psi., but we'll see how she holds together. After all, it does have 165k miles on it and she's startin' to smoke like "Spy Hunter" now and then.

Didn't mean for it to sound depressing. Just meant for it to be modest. I live in megaMustangville, where they make 4-6sec. 1/8th mile passes (only have an 1/8 track here) commonly. So, my high 8, low 9 second car doesn't strike me as a super car. hehe

As for the BikiRom, it'll be probably another month before I get it, maybe less. I'm workin' on rounding up the injectors and MAF right now.

AFR's are in the low 12/high 11 range. Because the SAFC2 + stock ECU is so limited in the tuning ability, the ratios jump around too much to maintain a solid 12.5. The closest I can seem to get them is within half a point of one another (11.8-12.3ish). I don't want the low end to be 12 and the high to be approaching 13.

Now, with the BikiRom, I'll be able to keep it all around 12.5 and pull timing where needed. That's when the really efficient power will come.

Thanks for the compliments. I'll keep everyone posted as to the mods as they come along...

Here are some photos. Sorry for the messy engine bay (wires and crap). I'll be straightening it all up this spring/summer when I swap the engine. I have a KADE from an S14 in the garage that has 98k miles and twin S13 exhaust cams.

That hood is nice though!! 280z or some sort i forgot. was that you who made the post about it a long time ago? was it a direct fit? that hood is perfect, especially since the turbo is on that side. its all nice and painted as if it were stock...nice..

Vent came off a 77 280 ZX. I bought the pair (it has a mate, minus the NACA inductor) for $25.00.

I rattle can painted it, made a stencil out of construction paper, hacked hole in the hood and dropped it in.

Yes, it was me that made the post a while back.

As for the tial knockoff -haven't had any spikes yet. So far it's running 8psi solid, with a variance of MAYBE 0.5 psi.

Base timing is 15* BTDC.

Did you pull any timing? I'm going to see what I can do with the stock A/F ratio and just pulling timing.

Lookin good man....My tunbe with the SAFCII is pretty solid on boost. Dunno why your's isn't. Mine goes from 11.4 at peak torque then up to 12.7 on a steady rate of increase from 4200 to 7000 you can almost draw a line with the AFR's.

No alky either.

I pulled base timing to 15* BTDC. I can't pull timing in various load cells right now, since it's the stock ECU and SAFC2/370's.

What do you mean by using stock AFR ?

It could be that I was monitoring this stuff on my own, without someone else there to help. It's always nice to have someone in the seat next to you monitoring the wideband. I think I can get it a bit closer, now that I think back on it. I really didn't spend a lot of time on it. Not to mention that "street tuning" is inconsistent at best, since the loads change.

Either way, I won't dwell on it much, since the BikiRom/550's/Z32 MAF will be coming in a month or less. No need spending dyno money on this current setup. I just need it to drive safely and dependently on this "generic" tune.

Thanks! I always find myself frowning on the wiring clutter under the hood. I plan on straightening it out when I do some swappin' later. At least put things in wire loom to keep it tidy.

I think another thing that'll help is installing a vacuum block. That way I don't have all these vacuum tees everywhere (boost gauge, BoV signal, FPR, etc.). Since I'll be removing the EGR (already disconnected, just takin' up space), I'll be able to re-plumb that vacuum mess on the back of the intake manifold.

haha, I dunno about WD, but I live in east TN. So, while it's easy to find a spot to run the @#%$ outta the car, it's tough to find one with a steady grade and no curvies.
