QUOTE=altima5507]review so far definitely more power at the mid to upper rpm smoother sounding exhuast and believe it or not gas mileage is going up average before was 18.6 and 25.8 now at 19.0 and 26.4 [/QUOTE]

This is a perfect example of what I call the Placebo Effect:

An improvement in a vehicles performance regarded as the effect of the person's belief in the effectiveness of the modification performed.

What in the world is a "smoother sounding exhaust"? Prior to the installation of this product, did your car suffer from 'rougher sounding exhaust syndrome'?

Without having baseline audiometric testing so you can differentiate the sounds, how can you make that statement? For all I know, maybe you have had this testing, so you would be qualified to make that assessment.

It seems that you are trying to justify your expenditure of over $130.00, you have convinced youself, but you have failed to win over skeptics, such as Linknuc and others who have participated in this thread.

The laws of physics are really hard to bend.

Let me take a moment to address this "41% more airflow than stock" claim.

The link to the Summit website shows a complete, round MAF assembly in the picture. For the Nissans, your picture shows the MAF only.

As I understand it, and I think the reason that Jet Performance can make those "41% more" claims, is that on some vehicles, their performance MAF includes the whole assembly, which has a larger overall diameter than the factory stock assembly that is being replaced. Larger OD would also mean larger ID, so more are can flow inside a bigger diameter housing.

At 11:05 am EST on 8-4-09, I called Jet performance, and spoke to a customer rep named 'Al'. I was told that my hypothisis was correct, and that on the Ford and Chevy performance MAF, a larger housing was included. This is where the "41%" statement came from. Those housings with the Jet MAF retail for around $400.00 On the Nissan MAF, since it does not come with a new larger housing, that statement does not apply. I was told that all the Jet MAF does differently than the factory stock is calibrate differently. It does not let more air into the system.

Modify to your heart's content.......just don't expect everyone to believe statements that can not be proven by scientific methods.

Forget about that MAF, I have a performance A/F sensor that gives you 20hp to the wheels since it is shaped more aerodynamic and senses better than the stock one.

All I ask is $399 with shipping.
