I bought a 1992 240SX back in August, the car had a blown motor. I finally located a good engine in Wichita (out of a 1995) a couple of weeks ago. I have spent the time since then gathering parts and putting the damn thing back together. Anyway, after a new starter today ($130 at Autozone) and resetting the distributor it's running!

This what it looked like the day after I bought it, it looks the same now except it moves on it's own power :D :

Of course it needs lots more work before it becomes a nice car, but for about $1,000 (so far) invested it's not a bad driver...

The body is in ok shape, needs a couple of areas repaired (I think I might have the dreaded hatch rust though) and paint (really bad). I plan to drive it this winter so the body isn't at the top of the list of things to do. Though a nice wash would probably do wonders.

Actually getting the engine in wasn't much of a problem, almost everything on the 1995 manifold plugged right into the 1992 harness. The biggest problem was getting parts, I run Royal Purple in my trannsmissions and it took Jegs 6 days to get that to me. The Nissan dealer took 5 days to get the clutch to me (I'm still waiting on the shifter boot, it's on backorder). Plus the endless trips to the auto part stores for gaskets, etc. All in all it probably took me about 15 hours total, a couple a night.
