it just won't start

i have a 1991 240sx that just won't start. i had a mechanic from a nissan dealer change the starter but the car still won't start. it won't even try to turn over. every time we turn the key, it just makes a vage "click" sound. the battery is fine and tested. all the lights, radio, etc. works. can you please tell me what's wrong with my car

if the timing chain broke or skiped, you may have bent valves. the click is probobly the starter solinoid or relay. is the motor trying to turn ( is it getting power when you turn the key).

You need to determine whether the click is coming from the starter or a relay somewhere.

how did it stop? did you just come out one day and it didn't start, or had you been having engine trouble. was it acting strange before it quit?

I had the same problem. Check to make sure the battery cables are secure and check for a little metal object with a lever on the left side of the battery. Play with the switch. Thats what fixed mine. Sucks cause i spent 60$ for a guy to just use a manual and flip a switch
