today i wound up rinning a hotwire direct to the battery from the fuel pump becouse i could not figure out why it wouldnt come on by the switch ! and now it'll fire up and cut back off .i know there could be alot of reasons ive double tripple checked all of the wiring ,and did find 1 ground that wasnt connected but that didnt help it.jeff @ heavy throttle told me that he has heard of the pump not coming on by the key alot and most of the time it has been a ground ,but i see none that it could be,and also should the light on the computer come on when the key is turned forward? i have been told yes,no,and some do some dont?!?!?!? all i gotta say is i need HELP!!! so if any of you have info ill take it.also if any of you live around northern VA and have a sr20 maybe we can meet up so i can take a gander at your wiring,or if any of you know some one around here maybe u could gimme an email or somthin!!!!

I would check the ground at the firewall as nismostate stated above. That thing can cause all kinds of problems if it comes of or is left off (i know from experince ). As far as the light goes it will come one for a couple of seconds when you turn the ignition switch on and then it turns off, if i rember correctly. Did you have any blown fuses such as ecu or fuel pump by any chance? i had a similar problem happen to me on a friend's car.

i got the fuel pump to come on ,it was the fuse which i checked about 4 time after putting in the walbro, i connected the ground wire,i see that the ecu light flashes on when the key is turned forward but it still wont start ,itll sound like it wants to start but when u let off the key it stops and backfires .as long as i have the key turned forward it sounds like its gonna start ,or like its started most of the time .what could be the problem?

fuel pump relay?

green one on passenger side relay box.

i switched the green ones one time and my pump started working. the one towards the firewall is for eccs which i no longer have since i switched to a ka24de.

this maybe the same as for the sr motor.

if i'm wrong , somebody slap me

im not messin with it until my parts get back. i saw on another site where a guy opened his ignitor chip and there was 4 pieces of metal on both sides of the ignitor chip which should be what the plugs on either side touch when they are connected .and he soldered a wire from each of those pieces of metal to the corresponding 1 on the other side........i know its riggin it up but i just spent 5k on all the stuff and i wanna drive it!!! that is as long as it doesnt hurt anything.do any of you have an ignitor for sale kinda cheap im pinchin money at the moment!
