Ok sorry it took so long, my computer doesn't want to connect to the internet at my house. Awesome, I know.
My dad and I hard at work.
Note dings in quarter panel.
Assembling the engine hoist. Check out my huge ram. Looking is free, but touching will cost ya, ladies. Note the blue gloves, the bomb.com when working on the car.
Engine somewhat taken apart. No accessories or anything. My dad was hauling a** removing stuff under the hood. He took out some built up aggression against the failboat coolant expansion tank by hurling it into the sun.
Turbo. Yay. I wish it said "TD06SH-20G" on it though. One day, one day.
Forgot to remove shifter before dropping the engine. Uuum, I would try to remember to do this. Ruined a shift boot but it was worth it for a good laugh. Getting the massive cir clip off the shifter was a huge pain. I think it was hands down the hardest thing we have done so far.
Oil leaking from back of head gasket. Block has to be out a whole bunch. Super awesome.
Crank trigger mount setup. Take notes if you want, you know its baller. The holes in the top are necessary for the screws on the top plate, that the trigger mounts to, to mount correctly.
Underside of the intake manifold. So clean! No leaks this side, well, except for the oil filter mount and the front of the head gasket.
Rear main seal was definitely leaking like crazy. This is a small fraction of the oil that I ruined the workshop floor with today. It was definitely time for the engine to come out.
My sweet clutch. A little worn but she's good to go. Kayaba RS550 if you are interested. Probably impossible to find now, just go buy you a Cusco.
Remember to label all those nuts and bolts kids!! I didn't have ziploc bags, so I used sammich bags. If someone accidentally bumps them over I am totally f***ed.
This is where I got to today. I would have pulled it all apart but I wanted to get the go-ahead from the parents before I officially took over the workshop with my busted-a** car. I got it and will tear it down tomorrow. The whole front of the engine was covered in oil. It was pretty graphic material, viewer discretion was advised.
So far I have found oil leaking from the cam seals, rear main, front main, oil pan, head gasket, and oil pressure sender. Sweet!
Big pile of parts.
I dominated this engine guys (and girl), I had it out and in the workshop in about four hours, and then stripped down to a bare longblock in another 3. Wasn't working on it full time today though as I was helping a buddy swap the engine mounts in his WRX. I imagine if no loitering was done, it could be pulled and disassembled in two or three hours, but that's just unnecessary.
Ive got to go to Regal Nissan tomorrow and order about fifty different gaskets and seals.
