hey guys i just want to let the community know that i just bolted in a stock 95 isuzu rodeo rear axle with dana 44 center section in to my 97 nissan hardbody.

i know that i have caused misinformation in the community regarding short shifters for 240sx's by buying a b&m short shifter and realizing it didnt bolt in but forgettting to post that fact. this time i am certain that this works because it is in my truck as of this writing. i hope this helps people that want disk brakes and a myriad of gear ratio and differential options.:woot:

the only change that had to be done to the axle was opening up the 1/2 centering pin holes on the spring perch to the stock 5/8

the axle wms to wms is 57.5" the stock hb 2wd axle is 58"

the pinion angle is the same as the stock axle, exactly 10 degrees

i got a 1310 ujoint style yoke to eliminate the weird isuzu output flange. i also had to get a 2 inch longer driveshaft. if you had the isuzu driveshaft, you could potentially connect our stock driveshaft although i am not sure of that.

the axle has disk brakes w drum e brake and stock comes with either 4:10 gears or 4:30 gears. i swapped the gearset for the stock 3.54 ratio our trucks typically come with stock.
some come with a stock mopar style clutch type limited slip. that what i am running. when it eventually wears out i am swapping in a new auburn diff for under 400 bucks :)
more info and pics to follow.... :D

Looks good. How did you figure out it could work? That looks like some trial and error right there.

i bought the rear axle expecting to do modifications. it was the right width and came out of a leaf sprung isuzu. before i went to bolt it up i had it sitting next to the stock axle, the spring perches were in the same exact location! i was like, holy crap thats awesome, lol :wtf2:
