Issues with Voice Command/Text Messaging on Stock Audio System

So going to ask on the forum here to see if anyone else has/had issues with the voice command/text messaging on their stock audio system (non-nav).

Here is my problem:

I can no longer receive and read text messages.
The menu on the deck no longer lists messages as an option.
Because the message option is no longer listed, the predetermined one are also not showing up.
I have unpaired/paired my iphone again as well as reinitiated the Nissan Connect(if that makes any difference).
Bluetooth does work as I can receive and call out thru the system.

Is there anything I can do myself before I contact the service department?

I suspect that you haven't enabled messaging access on your phone. Go to your phone's Bluetooth settings and enable it.

:facepalm2 Doh...

Thats what happens when you install the public beta version of IOS 10 and forget to check all the settings. Thanks.

Has your Nissan Connect free subscription expired? Being able to receive and send texts are part of the Basic Subscription package.
