Issues with the hatch latch

my hatch doesn't pop open so i tried to lower the hatch latch. as i was tightening it, the screw broke -.-..... anyone know where they sell these latches ? should i just attempt to take the screw out and put in a new screw? it looks like its been melted onto the latch. any help would be very appreciated.
