Hi, I am getting the dreaded 'CD ERR F3' error when playing any audio CD on my BOSE system. After much research, it looks like i need to replace the head unit (buy a used one on eBay) or send it for repair (http://www.carstereohelp.com). Both options cost me around 350$. So, I am thinking of just replacing the head unit with an aftermarket. Crutchfield.com guys recommended a Pioneer system with the wiring harness and dash-kit and swear there won't be any loss of sound quality when using with the BOSE amp and speakers/subwoofer with this unit.
So my questions are:1. Are there any solutions to the CD ERR F3 problem that I can try in house (I already tried disconnecting the battery terminal to reset etc..)2. Is it a good idea to go for the after market head unit (instead of the repair route) and assume it will work well with my BOSE amp/speakers. Anyone done this and noticed any major issues? Here is the opinion of a repair expert: http://carstereohelp.net/gotquestionsQ07.htm . 3. Will the single CD BOSE player (with the CD/CHG button) work on my system. These are 50% cheaper on eBay and am willing to take a risk buying them on eBay.
Appreciate any thoughts.. thank you
Vijay
