i have a 2002 nissan pathfinder 4x4.
i had a leaky spark plug tube seal, passenger side cylinder 1. decided to replace the the seal yesterday.
after i put the the pathfinder back together i have a hard time getting it to start.
i turn the key , turns on , rpm goes high @ about 2k rpm then when it gets to 1,500 rpm it stuggles, sounds like a misfire { no codes though }, gas smell and turns off { all this happens in a matter of 3-5 seconds after i turn the key }.
plugged in my obd2 scanner and i get a p0118 code { i also have a p1130 but that been lit up for over a year } when i clear the code it comes back before i turn the
pathfinder on, ive done this multiple times to see if another code pops up and it didn't. ive had a check engine light for a while. i honestly dont know if p0118 was there before i took apart the intake manifold. i checked the connector for the
engine coolant temp circuit and it was connected
what should i look for ? vaccum leak? unplugged connector ? bad ground ?

Sounds like the engine coolant sensor is bad or disconnected (maybe the connector is just loose). Check out EC-203 in the FSM for some troubleshooting info. I'd focus on that code; the engine relies pretty heavily on input from that sensor.

Let us know what you find!

replaced the coolant sensor { the one with a blue connector } there was another sensor that was smaller next to it but i dont know what that one does ?
and i also changed a broken hose under the intake manifold ,it connects one head to the other. its either oil or vaccuum.
also i noticed that the vacuum hose located from the brake booster to the intake
was also cracked. i just cut the hose and reattached it. that hose is very brittle though. i was gonna just replace it with
some regular hose but i noticed t had an arrow pointing in the direction of the intake , it might be directional. im just gonna buy a genuine one from nissan.
another mistake i made was not installing a piece correctly. it is located under the fuel pressure regulator { dont know its name } it was leaking oil, had a metal silver colored gasket.
i did not put in the gasket correctly. i would like to know the name of this piece so that i can order a gasket for it.
turned the vehicle on and it started fine . no p0118 error code , in a few days ill see if the swirl control valve sensor comes back on.

figured it out, its the " intake valve timing control solenid valve" that was leaking oil after i disconnected it.
it could have caused the engine to turn off as quickly as it did before
